September 19th, 12:00 am IST
Bundesliga is back and it is live on FanCode from today! The German top-flight football kicks off tonight with Bayern Munich taking on Schalke.
Bayern Munich are the current champions and will be looking for another successful campaign. The Bavarians have strengthened their squad in the summer but have lost Thiago Alcantara to Liverpool.
Schalke have not done much in the market with just Vedad Ibisevic joining on a free transfer and Gonçalo Paciência coming in on loan. They have loaned out Weston McKennie to Juventus while Alexander Nübel has joined Bayern Munich and Daniel Caligiuri has moved to Augsburg.
Last time Schalke defeated Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga was way back in 2010 when they won 2-0. Since then, Bayern have dominated this fixture and tonight will be no different.
Bayern Munich: Tanguy Nianzou is ruled out. Kingsley Coman is doubtful.
Schalke: Salif Sané and Omar Mascarell are doubtful.
Bayern Munich: Manuel Neuer, Benjamin Pavard, Niklas Süle, David Alaba, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané, Robert Lewandowski
Schalke: Ralf Fährmann, Sebastian Rudy, Ozan Kabak, Benjamin Stambouli, Bastian Oczipka, Suat Serdar, Nabil Bentaleb, Can Bozdogan, Amine Harit, Mark Uth, Gonçalo Paciência
Robert Lewandowski: The striker will be looking to get back on the pitch tonight as he was in stunning form last season. He would have been the front runner for the Ballon dOr this year but unfortunately, that has been cancelled.
Thomas Muller: The German is ageing like fine wine and has to a player to watch out for tonight. He has been at his best lately and should be a pick in all teams.
Leroy Sane: The new signing will be debuting against his former club tonight and could prove to be a thorn in their defence.
