Right then, that’s it from this game but the action continues in the Caribbean Premier League, 2023 as the carnival now moves to Guyana. The Guyana Amazon Warriors will take on the Jamaica Tallawahs in a couple of days from now on September 14th at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. That game will begin at 4.30 am IST (11.00 pm GMT, the previous day). But as know, you can always join us early for the build-up. Until then, goodbye and cheers!

Mark Deyal, the Player of the Match, for his fine fifty praises the almighty for his knock. Says that it is special to get it in front of the home crowd. Adds that the good part of the team is that everyone enjoys each other success. Shares that he was advised by Dwayne Bravo to take some time early on and it did wonders for him. Mentions that Pooran also gave him a lot of confidence. Closes by saying that they are playing a really good brand of cricket and everyone is putting their hands up.

Time for the post-match presentations...
9.03am
Earlier today, the Saint Lucia Kings were asked to bat first and they posted a reasonable score of 167 in their allotted overs on the back of an unbeaten 72 off 52 from Colin Munro. Roston Chase and Sean Williams made handy contributions and took the Kings to a fighting total. The Knight Riders were tidy with the ball and did not give away much. Waqar Salamkheil, Jayden Seales, and Sunil Narine chipped in with one apiece while Akeal Hosein was economical. Russell and Ali Khan were taken for 57 in their five overs and gave away a bit more than they would have wanted.
9.03am
Saint Lucia Kings bowlers' tried hard but did not have a huge score to defend on this pitch. Alzarri Joseph was the most impressive of the Kings' bowlers with 2 wickets while Chase chipped in with one. Matthew Forde bowled an economical spell upfront but the Trinbago Knight Riders were too strong for them. Saint Lucia Kings slump to their third loss but are very much in contention for the playoffs spot.
9.01am
Another emphatic win for the Trinbago Knight Riders who get over the line by 7 wickets. Chasing 168 for the win, the Trinbago Knight Riders lost Guptill and Pooran inside the Powerplay. Mark Deyal and Lorcan Tucker added an outstanding 87 for the third wicket and got the game in their control. Mark Deyal departed after making a fine 45-ball 57 but Tucker batted through and remained unbeaten on 38. Andre Russell (25* off 12) provided the finishing touches and took the Knight Riders home with 7 balls to spare. This win ensures the Trinbago Knight Riders a top-two finish.

... THE RUN CHASE ...
7.09am
Right then, the match is nicely poised at the halfway mark. You'd think that with the dew settling in, the Saint Lucia Kings are a bit under-par but they have the resources to defend this total. Will the Kings rise to the challenge? Or will the Trinbago Knight Riders cruise to a victory? We will find out after we return in a bit for the chase.
7.07am
Saint Lucia Kings' man of the moment, Colin Munro is in for a chat. He says that it was nice to get a score and being with Trinbago Knight Riders for 7 years makes them know his strengths and weakness very well. Adds that he and Roston Chase were trying not to give wickets to spinners and play to their strengths. Mentions that the pitch is slow and gripping a bit. States that they want to stay one step ahead and adapt to the conditions well when they ball.
7.06am
As far as the Trinbago Knight Riders are concerned, Jayden Seales did provide them with an early wicket but they were unable to capitalize on it. The spinners, in particular, failed to string dots, allowing the opposition batters to bat freely without any pressure. Just when the Saint Lucia Kings were starting to get a move on, Waqar Salamkheil accounted for Roston Chase before Sunil Narine got rid of Sikandar Raza. At that stage, it looked like the Knight Riders would finish well with the ball but at the death, the pacers were unable to nail their lines and lengths. Kieron Pollard will be hoping that it does not come back to haunt them. Waqar Salamkheil was their most economical bowler and had figures of 1 for 23 from his allotted overs.
7.02am
A late flourish by Sean Williams has helped the Saint Lucia Kings finish on a high! With 35 runs off the last three overs, they end up with a competitive total on the board. After being asked to bat first, the Saint Lucia Kings were rocked early as they lost the in-form Johnson Charles in the 4th over. However, Colin Munro who was quick to get off the blocks and by doing so, got his side off to a swift start. Roston Chase played second fiddle during the 76-run stand and gave good support to the southpaw. Munro brought up his 14th Caribbean Premier League fifty and kept his side in the hunt for a strong finish. We should have had the toss by now, but before this game, the final of the Women's Caribbean Premier League between Barbados Royals Women and Guyana Amazon Warriors women took place at the same venue in which the Royals emerged as the winners. Looks like the post-game formalities of the final are causing a bit of a delay but stick around, the toss of this game will happen shortly...
11 Sep, 4.37am
On the other hand, the Saint Lucia Kings' two-match winning streak came to an end against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. A win in this game for Sikandar Raza's Kings will help them solidify their position in the third spot in the points table. Johnson Charles has been their standout batter so far, and it is about time the likes of Colin Munro and Sikandar Raza come to the party. Alzarri Joseph has made a mark with his raw pace, while Khary Pierre, Roston Chase, and Sikandar Raza have excelled in the spin department. Who are you backing to leave Trinidad with a win? Stick around as the toss and team news is not far away.
11 Sep, 4.35am
Kieron Pollard's Trinbago Knight Riders are on a winning juggernaut, and looking at their current form, they are almost certain to qualify for the playoffs. They secured their second straight win after getting the better of the Jamaica Tallawahs in their last outing. Their top two run-getters, Martin Guptill and Nicholas Pooran, continued their brilliant run of form, notching up fifties in the comprehensive victory. Andre Russell was a bit expensive with the ball, but he more than made up for it with the bat. As the Knight Riders look to strengthen their position in the points table even more, Akeal Hosein, Sunil Narine, and Waqar Salamkheil will have to deliver the goods with the ball.
11 Sep, 4.33am
Hello and a warm welcome, folks! We have arrived at the final game of the Trinidad leg in the 2023 Caribbean Premier League, which sees the Trinbago Knight Riders take on the Saint Lucia Kings. ... MATCH DAY ...
10 Sep, 3.52am
We have reached the end of the Trinidad leg in the eleventh edition of the Caribbean Premier League as we focus our attention on match number 24 which will be played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba before we move to the Providence Stadium in Guyana where the last phase of the tournament will be played. In this game, the hosts Trinbago Knight Riders clash against Saint Lucia Kings with both teams nestled in the top part of the table. The two sides faced each other earlier in the tournament at Warner Park in Basseterre and it was Saint Lucia Kings that registered a dominating win over their opponents by 54 runs. The visitors lost their opening game but remained unbeaten in their next five matches with three wins and two no results. They suffered a demoralizing defeat in their last match against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots losing by 4 wickets on the penultimate ball of the inning. Johnson Charles is the top scorer for their side with 211 runs and he will be hoping to get his partnership with Colin Munro to succeed. The form of the Zimbabwean duo Sean Williams and Sikandar Raza will be a bit of a worry for the management but showed great faith by naming the latter as the skipper in the absence of Faf du Plessis. Shadrack Descartes was in good nick in the last match and could prove to be their solution for the middle and lower order. They have a string bowling contingent with Khary Pierre and Alzarri Joseph spearheading the pace unit while Peter Hatzoglou along with the all-rounders Roston Chase, Raza, and Williams handling spin bowling duties. They will be eager to return to winning ways as we move into the business end of the tournament. On the other hand, the Trinbago Knight Riders are in red-hot form, winning four out of their last five games. Kieron Pollard's side secured their second straight win after cruising home against the Jamaica Tallawahs in the last outing with 7 wickets in hand and 16 balls to spare. For the Knight Riders, Martin Guptill and Nicholas Pooran have done the heavy lifting, with both batters notching up a hundred in the competition. Kieron Pollard's form has dipped a bit, but Andre Russell was at his destructive best in the previous encounter, and he will have to be on top of his game towards the business end of the tournament. When it comes to the spin department, Sunil Narine and Waqar Salamkheil have delivered consistently and have been well complemented by the left-arm spin of Akeal Hosein. The spinners have made the job easier for the likes of Ali Khan and Andre Russell, who have done a decent job as well. As the Trinbago Knight Riders take the field for one final time this season in front of their home fans, they will be hoping to end the Trinidad leg on a high. Will the Kings do the double over their opponents? Or will the high-flying Trinbago Knight Riders return the favour this time? We will find out soon enough.
