They had a strong start with an opening partnership of 109 runs between Amith Sathvik and Tushar Raheja. However, after the top three batsmen, only skipper R Sai Kishore managed to reach double digits and whah seemed to be reaching over a 200 run mark was lowered to 192. Salem Spartans' fumbled at the start but gained the momentum back in the second half of the first innings.

10.46pm  Chasing a steep target of 193 runs, it was always going to be a difficult task for the SKM Salem Spartans. They lost control early on and were five wickets down inside the Powerplay. K Vishal Vaidhya seemed to be the lone batter on the crease as the rest of the top order and the middle order batters were dismissed on single digits. He was dismissed on 35. Later, R Rajan played an unbeaten knock of 53 runs but it was too little, too late as the required rate was way out of their reach. And with this loss, the SKM Salem Spartans are out of the playoffs race.

10.41pm  It was a walk in the park for the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans! It was an all-round performance from them. They were all over the SKM Salem Spartans right from the word go. It was P Bhuvaneswaran and T Natarajan who ran a havoc over the SKM Salem Spartans openers. S Mohamed Ali was brilliant in the middle overs as he cleaned up the SKM Salem Spartans' middle order and picked up three crucial wickets. He was certainly the pick of the bowlers for them. S Ajith Ram later picked up two wickets and made sure that their side went well over the line.
