Right then, on a day that was filled with rain and the Women's Eliminator game had to be abandoned, we got to witness another downpour. Thankfully though, it was a downpour of runs as both teams really went at it and we got to witness an insane encounter. Manchester Originals make it through to the finals second-time running and will now take on Oval Invincibles for the coveted title at Lord's. That game will be played on Sunday, 27 August and will begin at 10.30 pm IST (5 pm GMT). Our build-up though will begin much sooner. So, do join us then. Cheers!
2.00am
Manchester Originals skipper, Jos Buttler is the Hero of the Match for his quickfire and crucial knock of 82 runs off just 46 balls. He says it feels fantastic and the wicket was good too. He says that Philip Salt was amazing at the start. He adds that he was a bit disappointed at the mid-way as they had a big total to chase but the team did excellent to chase it. Mentions that it feels fantastic to be in the finals and ends by saying that they will give their best and try to win it.

The Presentation ceremony...
1.58am
Earlier in the game, Jos Buttler won the toss and had no hesitation in sending the opposition into the bat first. After a watchful start, Finn Allen came into his own and played a gem of a knock as his partner Devon Conway provided ample support at the other end. The duo put on 122 runs before Allen got out but the momentum didn't shift for too long as Southern Brave skipper James Vince showed his class and thumped the bowlers. In the end, just the 3 batters took part for the Brave, all getting half-centuries and they got to 196 runs. Manchester Originals had a lineup full of pacers and the ball just came onto the bat so nicely that they looked completely out of sorts. Coming to the chase, the Originals needed a fast start and got just that but they were also able to build on it and have now stormed into the final.
1.53am
Southern Brave will be gutted with that loss and surely after their exploits with the bat, they must have thought they had enough runs on the board but the pitch played beautifully throughout the contest. Not much to talk about the bowling from either side but Mitchell Santner did bowl a tight spell and picked up a wicket as well. Rehan Ahmed and Tymal Mills bowled decently as well but couldn't contain the batting in the latter sets. Also, the experienced duo of Chris Jordan and Craig Overton were unable to use that experience and were the most expensive of the bunch.
1.52am
Manchester Originals started the chase with a real flourish but initially, Philip Salt did get a bit of luck with a few outside edges as well. Once set, both Salt and the skipper Jos Buttler started hammering the bowlers to all parts of the ground and the former was certainly in some mood out there but he got out soon after. Max Holden came in and kept up the ante with Buttler surpassing a quick 50. Holden too fell after a blistering cameo but Buttler got his side close to the win before eventually getting out. In the end, it was Laurie Evans who hit a few lusty blows and Jamie Overton who hit the winning runs that got the job done for the Originals.
1.50am
MANCHESTER ORIGINALS ARE IN THE FINAL! What a sensational display of hitting we have seen from both teams but in the end, it is last year's runners-up Manchester Originals who have toppled the 2021 champions Southern Brave to make it through to back-to-back finals. To chase down 196 runs in a knockout game in such a fashion is certainly something that will be remembered for a long, long time. Heartbreak for Southern Brave though who batted brilliantly but just couldn't hold their nerve with the ball.

... THE RUN CHASE ...
12.26am
The stage is now set for an enthralling second innings, as the Manchester Originals batters face the daunting task of chasing down this imposing total. Will the Manchester outfit conjure up a magical turnaround to chase down the target? Or will the Southern Brave's comprehensive display across all facets of the game secure their path to the final? As the tension mounts and the cricketing drama unfolds, fans are poised for an exhilarating spectacle that promises twists, turns, and unforgettable moments. Stay tuned for the climax of this showdown.
12.26am
As the Southern Brave's batters displayed their mettle, the Manchester Originals' bowlers grappled with inconsistency, conceding 20 runs as extras on an inopportune day. Struggling to execute their plans, the bowlers found themselves under the relentless onslaught of the Southern Brave's attacking display right from the outset.
12.24am
A sensational display of batting prowess unfolded in the Eliminator clash as the Southern Brave's batters orchestrated a brilliant performance, amassing a formidable total of 196 runs for the loss of just one wicket in their allotted 100 balls. The accolades rightly belong to the opening pair of Finn Allen and Devon Conway, who constructed a magnificent foundation by contributing a staggering 122 runs for the first wicket partnership. Finn Allen's explosive knock of 69 off 38 deliveries, set the tone for the innings. Devon Conway and skipper James Vince carried forward this momentum, steering the innings with precision. Conway's composed 51 off 38 balls and Vince's scintillating 56 off just 25 deliveries were instrumental in bolstering the final total, placing the Southern Brave in a commanding position on this high-pressure occasion.

10.49pm
All of a sudden, the sky has turned really dark and there is a bit of light rain around as well. But there is sunshine at one end and hopefully, we do not get any further delays and the game starts on time. For precaution, the pitch has been kept under covers. A few minutes later, the covers are removed and the crowd gears up for the start.
10.37pm
James Vince, the captain of Southern Brave says that they would have bowled first as well. Adds that they have a quality side and they will look to post a good score on the board. Ends by mentioning one change in their side as Craig Overton comes back.
10.37pm

There is a positive update as the toss is set to take place at 10.32 pm IST (5.02 pm GMT) with play starting at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT). Plus, we will have a complete game of 100 balls per side weather permitting that is. So, buckle up and join us for the toss and team updates in a bit.
9.51pm
So, there has been rains here at Kennington Oval, London, and the earlier game of The Hundred Women between Welsh Fire Women and Northern Superchargers Women was abandoned as Northern Superchargers Women went through into the finals. Let's hope that the rains stay away in this game and we get a full game of cricket here. There will be a pitch inspection here at 10.10 pm IST (4.40 pm GMT).
9.32pm
The Manchester Originals have finished second on the points table with equal points as Southern Brave but a slightly better net run-rate. Their captain has led from the front, instilling confidence in the team. In this game, they're not going down without a fight. The Southern Brave would try to capitalize on their victory in the last game. Both teams have some of the best players in this format, and we expect a close contest. Stay tuned for toss and other updates...
9.29pm
Hello and a warm welcome folks! The Hundred Men's Competition 2023 Eliminator game is now underway. In a heated matchup, the Southern Brave and the Manchester Originals will compete to join the Oval Invincibles in the finals. The Southern Brave won the previous league match between the two teams by a margin of six wickets, which will boost their confidence going into this contest.
9.27pm
... MATCH DAY ...
24 Aug, 2.30am
It is time for the big Eliminator of Men's Hundred as Manchester Originals and Southern Brave are going against each other at the Kennington Oval, London. The former started their season on a low but gained momentum and bounced back in style finishing second on the points table. They though come with a loss against the Southern Brave in this game. They will look to overturn that and bring their A-game onto the table. On the other hand, Southern Brave's season was a mixed bag and they ended up in third place with better NRR than the Welsh Fire who had similar points. Both sides are full of superstars as this game promises to be a cracker.
