9.07pm  Australia Champions were in a comfortable position when they came out to defend the target, as there was not much pressure on the bowlers. Imagine though if Australia Champions would've gotten anywhere near 200, then West Indies Champions could've chased it down as well. Maybe the seventh-wicket stand hurt them the most in the end, or did the bowling get lackluster? Australia Champions need to be careful about the same during the semi-finals though, as they cannot afford such casual approach when it matters the most. Brett Lee lead from the front as he picked up a brace. Peter Siddle, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Dan Christian and Xavier Doherty, the Impact substitute picked up a wicket each, although Doherty leaked away 74 runs in his spell of 4 overs, which might've killed the excitement of this victory for the Aussies.

9.03pm  Chasing 275 was going to be a tall mountain to climb for West Indies Champions, but we have seen them breaking records in the past and they approached the game just like that with Dwayne Smith going hammer and tonks up top, setting the tone for this run chase really well, but when his partners tries to accelerate from the other end, West Indies Champions ended up losing two overs in the Powerplay itself, which is a huge setback while chasing down a humongous target. This though did not kill the moment for them as Dwayne Smith found an able partner in the Impact substitue, Jonathan Carter as they both stitched a valuable stand of 53 runs to negotitate a tough period and put their team back in the contest. Eventually though, once this partnership was broken, they lost another one in quick succession, which meant they were not left with many wickets in hand. Ashley Nurse played a solid cameo in the end, alongside his skipper in Daren Sammy stating that West Indies never go down without a fight.

8.56pm  Man who says these lads cannot play on the international stage? Australia were just sublime with the bat and managed to put the game to bed in the first innings itself one would say. During the toss interview, Brett Lee said that he would love to get anywhere near 200, but his team-mate have out-proven him this time and that is the best feeling for any skipper.
