Match overview:

The three-month long extravaganza of the Pro Kabaddi League 2018 sees the end of the league stage as the home side Bengal Warriors take on UP Yoddha at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.

Bengal Warriors have secured qualification from Zone B, keeping the pressure on the Bengaluru Bulls after defeating them yesterday to get three wins against them this season. Maninder Singh was in fine form, getting another Super 10 to his tally this season, and he had able support from Jang Kun Lee from the other end. The defence will aim to keep their form going against the formidable UP Yoddha raiding unit.

UP Yoddha were handed a lease of life after the Gujarat Fortunegiants got the win over Patna Pirates in convincing fashion. They were in a do-or-die situation with a win needed to get them to the playoffs.

Prashant Kumar Rai will lead the charge for the side in attack and Nitesh Kumar’s resilience on the right corner will be key for the Yoddha against an in-form Bengal Warriors side.

My dream XI

Maninder Singh (16.5 Cr), Jang Kun Lee (15 Cr) and Prashant Kumar Rai (15 Cr) form the raiding unit of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.

The Bengal Warriors have had one of the most consistent raiders, Maninder Singh on their roster and the powerhouse has led them to the playoffs almost single-handedly. Jang Kun Lee recovered well from his mid-season absence and has done well to support Maninder over the course of the Kolkata leg. Prashant Kumar Rai has been in terrific form over the past few weeks, leading the UP Yoddha side to their best run of form this season.

Nitesh Kumar (14.5 Cr), Sachin Kumar (12 Cr) and Surjeet Singh (14.5 Cr) form the defensive lineup of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.

Nitesh Kumar has been the best right corner defender of the league this season with a massive tally of 77 points from 21 matches. He has scored with great consistency, locking in strong ankle holds and double thigh holds. Sachin Kumar has played a great role as the left corner in the UP Yoddha defence and has even managed to contribute as an all-rounder with his fast-paced raiding. Surjeet Singh is the key man in the Bengal Warriors’ defence, manning the troops from the right cover position, and has scored more than 50 tackle points.

Ravindra Ramesh Kumawat (12.5 Cr) forms the all-rounders of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.

The all-rounder Ravindra Ramesh Kumawat has emerged as a handy contributor to the Warriors’ lineup, doing well in do-or-die raid situations and supporting the main raiders ably. He can chip in with a few tackle points as well.

Captain and vice-captain: Maninder Singh and Prashant Kumar Rai

Alternative: Prashant Kumar Rai and Nitesh Kumar

Player to watch out for: Prashant Kumar Rai

The lanky raider has been on a strong run of form, leading the charge of the raiding unit and putting the UP Yoddha in a position to make the playoffs. He has picked up crucial raid points and scored a few Super 10s in the last five matches as well.
