Match overview:

After an exciting first day of playoffs action, Kochi is all set to host two more clashes as we inch closer to the final round in Mumbai. Dabang Delhi KC and UP Yoddha will battle it out at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kochi, Kerala for a place in the Qualifier 2.

Dabang Delhi KC showed great all-around balance on the mat to overcome the challenge of the Bengal Warriors in their playoffs clash. Naveen Kumar and Chandran Ranjit were in fine form and backed by strong defence, especially Ravinder Pahal as they trounced the Warriors comfortably after a strong second half. Delhi will aim to keep their consistency going against a defensively strong UP Yoddha side.

UP Yoddha put on one of the best defensive performances this season to triumph over U Mumba in the first eliminator. Nitesh Kumar top scored on the mat with eight tackle points taking his total tally to a massive 91 tackle points in 23 matches. He was supported ably by Jeeva Kumar and Narender from the cover position. The UP Yoddha raiding unit comprises three talented players – Rishank Devadiga, Shrikant Jadhav and Prashant Kumar Rai who will be backing themselves to deliver against Delhi to progress to the next stage.

My dream XI

Naveen Kumar (15.5 Cr) and Chandran Ranjit (15 Cr) form the raiding unit of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.

The Dabang Delhi KC raiding duo make our fantasy squad for the eliminator. Naveen Kumar dazzled against the Bengal Warriors with a Super 10 performance troubling the experienced lineup with his speed on the mat. Chandran Ranjit played his role as the second raider with great efficiency scoring eight points including timely bonus points to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Nitesh Kumar (15 Cr), Jeeva Kumar (12.5 Cr), Ravinder Pahal (14.5 Cr) and Vishal Mane (13 Cr) form the defensive lineup of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.

Both the sides have been quite stable on the defensive front, hence we have four players – two from each team on our fantasy squad. Nitesh Kumar has been the standout defender for the UP Yoddha and was unplayable against the U Mumba raiding unit neutralizing the threat of Siddharth Desai and scored eight tackle points further extending his lead at the top of tackle points tally. Jeeva Kumar also got a High 5 against U Mumba and played a key role from the cover position and will hope to contribute against Delhi as well.

Ravinder ‘The Hawk’ Pahal showed great instincts on the right corner against Bengal Warriors scoring four tackle points to lead the charge in the Delhi defence with his famed double thigh holds. Vishal Mane has used his burly physique to great extent to put in strong dashes and blocks from the cover position to support his two corner defenders and scored timely tackle points.

Rishank Devadiga (14.5 Cr) forms the all-rounders of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.

The UP Yoddha skipper, who has been listed as an all-rounder for his ability to sneak in tackle points from the left In position has hit form at the right time. He picked up two tackle points against his former side U Mumba and will be aiming to lead his side on both fronts against Delhi as well.

Captain and vice-captain: Naveen Kumar and Nitesh Kumar

Alternative: Nitesh Kumar and Chandran Ranjit

Player to watch out for: Nitesh Kumar

The league’s top scoring defender was in his prime form against the U Mumba side scoring eight tackle points to derail the raiding unit and lead the UP Yoddha to the next stage of the playoffs. He will be up for another test when he takes on the Dabang Delhi raiding unit.
