Haryana Steelers vs Bengal Warriors: Match Preview, PKL

Match Details:

Match – Haryana Steelers vs Bengal Warriors

Date –  5 December 2018, 8:00 PM IST

Venue – Thyagaraj Sports Complex, Delhi

Match overview:

Pro Kabaddi League 2018 action carries on at the Delhi leg of the competition as the inter-zonal week makes its return. Haryana Steelers (Zone A) will take on Bengal Warriors (Zone B) at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in the capital city in the first match of the day.

Haryana Steelers are currently out of the playoffs spot in Zone A and an inconsistent run of games hasn’t helped their cause either. They lost out to the Puneri Paltan in their previous fixture after a big first-half lead. Monu Goyat and Vikas Khandola have been in good touch but the raiders will hope for better support from their defensive setup when they take on the Warriors.

Bengal Warriors are on a three-match winning run as they maintain the third spot in the Zone B and are on course for a playoffs spot. Maninder Singh has been in deadly form for the Warriors with Super 10s in all their three wins. He has found good support from Mahesh Goud and Ravindra Kumawat as well. The defence, led by Surjeet Singh has stepped up lately after a slow start to the season.

It is fair to say that the team with the better defensive performance will win considering the raiding strength of the two sides is almost at par.

My dream XI

Maninder Singh (16.5 Cr), Monu Goyat (15.5 Cr) and Vikas Khandola (16 Cr) form the raiding unit of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.

Maninder Singh has yet again proved himself to be a stellar raider keeping the Warriors almost single-handedly in the playoffs spot. He is a no-brainer pick in the squad with his ability to deliver a hefty return of points almost every game. Monu Goyat and Vikas Khandola have the mantle of leading the charge for the Haryana Steelers and the duo has looked in fine touch over the past few matches. They will hope to lead the Steelers to a much-needed win against the Warriors.

Surjeet Singh (14.5 Cr), Kuldeep Singh (13.5 Cr) and Baldev Singh (11.5 Cr) form the defensive lineup of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.

Surjeet Singh displayed his vintage form against the formidable Bulls’ raiding unit picking up four tackle points and will hope to continue his momentum. Baldev Singh has been a handy help for the Warriors on the right corner. Kuldeep Singh has done well on the left corner for the Steelers consistently picking up tackle points.

Ravindra Ramesh Kumawat forms the all-rounders of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.

Ravindra Ramesh Kumawat has gotten a couple of starts for the Bengal Warriors after impressing off the bench and he has done well to function as the second raider alongside Maninder Singh.

Captain and vice-captain: Maninder Singh and Vikas Khandola

Alternative: Monu Goyat and Maninder Singh

Player to watch out for: Maninder Singh

Maninder Singh was the difference for the Warriors against the Bengaluru Bulls as he picked up 17 raid points leading them to a win. He will be the key man for them again on the mat against the Haryana Steelers.
